circa 1885, 28in. bold etched damascus black powder only barrels, the top rib engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 151. NEW BOND ST. LONDON. PATENT FOUR BARREL BREECH LOADING HAMMERLESS GUN' and with fine acanthus detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in all, Thorn second (improved) patent double-action rotating striker patent four-barrelled treble-grip action, patent no. 213 of 1882, the rear trigger drawing the action to full cock, the front trigger firing the mechanism, manual tang mounted safety lever with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, removable striker discs (dot marked 1-4) and central 'CHARLES LANCASTER'S PATENT' marking in a roundel, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved fences, beaded border engraving, the sides of the action engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER'S PATENT. LONDON.', bright finish, 14 1/8in. figured stock, weight 7lb. 7oz., in a relined brass-cornered leather case
